Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

Syned One was a terrestrial astronomical object located in the Syned system of the Grumani sector, a part of the Trailing Sectors portion of the Outer Rim Territories. It shared its name with the planet Syned, which was also in the Syned star system.

Syned One featured on its surface an alien obelisk. Every six hundred years, the alignment of the stars in the sky would make the alien obelisk reveal unusual inscriptions. By 3643 BBY, the obelisk once again revealed the writings.

Around that year, an individual associated with one of the two opposing governments in the ongoing struggle between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire sent a companion to Syned One to observe the appearance of the inscriptions on the obelisk. The companion eventually deciphered a map from the writings that led them to a strange discovery.
