The Ulkantha asteroids were located in the Ulkantha system, a part of the Tharin sector in the Slice portion of the Outer Rim Territories. At some point between 0 ABY and 3 ABY, the Galactic Empire carried out a raid in the Ulkantha asteroids. As a result, the Empire's Star Destroyer fleet known as the Death Squadron learned about an extensive Sakiyan smuggling ring based at the Syvris shadowport in the Al'Nasrl sector's Syvris system. The Death Squadron subsequently carried out a devastating attack on the shadowport.
