Yunkor IX was an astronomical object in the Yunkor system, a part of the Jjannex sector in the Western Reaches portion of the Outer Rim Territories. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, a TIE staging area was located near the astronomical object. It was used to resupply battle-depleted Imperial forces and nearby capital ships.
In 1 ABY, Lieutenant Keyan Farlander, a rebel pilot, was dispatched to the staging area in a B-wing starfighter in order to destroy the cargo containers and parked TIE starfighters there. Farlander destroyed all of his targets before jumping into hyperspace.
