Bruce Vilanch

Bruce Vilanch is a writer and jokesmith who served as one of the writers for 1978's The Star Wars Holiday Special. When he learned at a development meeting that the special would center around Chewbacca's family, he became worried that it was in danger of looking like "one long episode of Lassie." He expressed his concerns to George Lucas—pointing out that Wookiees didn't speak a Human language and made noises that could potentially be interpreted as sounding sexual—but he was simply met with a "glacial" look from the Star Wars creator.
