Taika Waititi (born August 16, 1975) is a New Zealand film director, screenwriter, and actor best known for the 2014 film What We Do in the Shadows and the 2017 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Thor: Ragnarok. He directed an episode of the live-action Star Wars television series Star Wars: The Mandalorian, created by fellow Marvel director Jon Favreau. He will also direct and co-write an as-yet-untitled Star Wars film.
