Topps Star Wars Living Set

Canon

Topps Star Wars Living Set was a trading card set released by Topps. Two cards were released each week, with each card sold exclusively through the official Topps website for one week. The final print run for each card was determined by the number sold during the one-week sale window. The set ran from 2019 until 2024, concluding with a total of 500 cards.

As part of the Living Set program, Topps will only issue one card per character per film, television series, or video game.

The Star Wars Living Set is inspired by the design of the 1977 Topps Star Wars Series 1 trading card set. Notable Star Wars artists Kris Penix and Carlos Cabaleiro provide the artwork for the trading cards.

In 2024, The Living Set was officially discontinued after reaching 500 cards. The decision was made by Topps and was not related to the performance or output of the artists, who had continued to provide artwork as requested. According to statements from the creators, Topps justified the cancellation by citing a limited number of remaining characters and a perceived lower demand for newer characters among collectors. This reasoning was disputed by the artists, who noted that many potential characters—particularly from animated series and more recent productions—had yet to be represented in the set.
