The Amphi-Hydrus were an amphibian sentient species from the Outer Rim Territories planet Dac. They were proficient in using telepathy fueled by the dark side of the Force to manipulate the minds of others. At one point, they telepathically controlled several imported rancors, causing a brief period of chaos on Dac. Following the Galactic Empire's subjugation of the planet, the Amphi-Hydrus retreated to living in its swamps.
