Fen slugs were a type of slug known to the Chiss Ascendancy. In 19 BBY, while flying in one of the shuttles of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet heavy cruiser Springhawk during a mission in the Unknown Regions Rapacc system, the Chiss Mitth'ali'astov, core name "Thalias," compared the maneuverability of the shuttle to that of a fen slug.
