Flesh Raiders were a sub-species of the Rakata. Mutated and bred as lower-caste soldiers in servitude to the Rakata-ruled Infinite Empire, some members of the sub-species were abandoned on the planet Tython, where they survived in tribal communities despite the empire's collapse. They were called "Flesh Raiders" when the Jedi Order rediscovered Tython and relocated to the world after helping the Galactic Republic in the Great Galactic War against the resurgent Sith Empire. In the subsequent Cold War period, the Flesh Raiders came into conflict with the nearby Twi'lek Pilgrims and Jedi.
