Gurk

Gurks were hairy humanoids native to the planet Lok. Despite their large size and their worrisome appearance, they were very peaceful animals. They ate primarily nuts, berries, and fruit. These creatures were known for their loud yell. The inhabitants of Lok used to capture Gurks and train them for domestic use. The hide of the "Gurk king" was said to be very useful in the construction of armor, especially Reinforced Insulated Sheath armor.

During the Galactic Civil War, the Sulfur Lake Pirates trained a large gurk named the Bridge Troll to guard their hideout on Lok. The creature was later killed by a spacer working for Mako Ghast of the Lok Revenants.
