Kaastoag were scavenging creatures with stingers and tentacles used by the Yuuzhan Vong to clean food waste from the floors of their mess halls. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, several were present in the mess aboard the vua'spar interdictor Sunulok shortly before the commencement of the Yuuzhan Vong's Battle Plan Coruscant in 27 ABY, where they fought over yanskac remains cast to the floor by Yuuzhan Vong Warmaster Tsavong Lah while he consumed its meat.
