A mind eel was a species of eel native to the West Fissure, an agricultural region on a planet situated near the moon Raspar-6, in the Raspar star system, located in the Tragan Cluster within the Outer Rim Territories.
Mind eels thrived and were excited when solar flares hit the planet's surface. Weather forecasts recommended the watching of mind eels and their offspring during such stellar flares, which one time occurred during the months of Neevlit and Dha in that world's calendar. These creatures did not heed the crop boundaries set in The Relevant Farm Act of Thairwsthis 12.
