Pau'an and Utai precursor species

Eons before the Clone Wars, a species of sentient, spacefaring nonhumans settled the planet of Utapau, in the Tarabba sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim. Some created homes in the sinkholes of Utapau, while others chose to live on the planetary surface. Over time, the original colonists evolved into two distinct species: the tall and long-lived Pau'ans, and the diminutive Utai.
