Pharples were small, flightless birds with long beaks native to the desert world of Lok. These cowardly insectivores caused little trouble to sentient beings. Breeds of pharple included giant pharples and runty pharples.
During the Galactic Civil War, the Sulfur Lake Pirates tamed a giant pharple that they named Nym's Girlfriend as a means by which to humiliate their enemy Nym. The creature was later killed in the Sulfur Lake Pirate Hideout by a spacer working for Grenz Zittoun of the Lok Revenants.
