Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

The Rodian rot-worm was a parasitic worm that shared its name with Rodia, a planet of jungle and oceans located in the Savareen sector of the Outer Rim Territories, as well as its native Rodian species of sentient reptilians. Its name was also similar to that of rotworms, which lived on the swamp planet Dagobah in the Outer Rim's Sluis sector. By 3630 BBY, excretions from drutash grubs that could be found on the planet Sullust in the Outer Rim's Brema sector were being used in folk medicine to cure parasitic infections such as that caused by the Rodian rot-worm.

That year, an individual affiliated with one of the sides in the ongoing struggle between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire sent a companion to investigate the scientific validity of that practice, with the latter individual subsequently collecting biochemical samples.
