Scratch-hens were a type of hen. In 382 BBY, the leader of the Path of the Open Hand cult, Elecia Zeveron, suffered a seizure while in the Path compound on the Outer Rim planet Dalna. As Elders of the group tended to her convulsing body, the Evereni Path Guide Marda Ro mentally noted that the Elders were fussing around Zeveron like a brood of scratch-hens.
