Sea monsters were a type of aquatic creatures that lived in the oceans of the planet Selonia. There were no sea monsters on the neighboring world of Corellia because its oceans were much smaller than Selonia's.
In 18 ABY, Han Solo told his children that they could swim at the Gold Beaches of Corellia during a family trip to his homeworld. His youngest son, Anakin Solo, was dubious of swimming due to a concern that there would be sea monsters at the beaches, but Han assured him that all the sea monsters were on Selonia.
