Spikeworm

The spikeworm was a type of worm native to the remote forest moon Treen. They were large in size with a brown, segmented body from which small spikes protruded. The worms also had a large, beak-like maw with a spiked tongue. At least one worm resided underground within Treen's Forest of Tranquility and was encountered by the Pantoran Padawan Vosa. While on the moon, Vosa tried to meditate within the forest. Unknown to the Padawan, the spot he was attempting to meditate on was on top of a spikeworm nest. Vosa was eventually spotted by a four-armed ape that was aware of the worm nest, and Vosa's impending danger. The ape began to scream and shake the trees, causing debris to fall onto the Padawan who began to chase the ape in retaliation. Soon after leaping into the trees, a spikeworm erupted out of the ground right where Vosa had been meditating just moments before. Some time after the event, the story of Vosa's encounter with the spikeworm was told to a group of Padawans by the protocol droid AD-3 as part of their knowledge trial.
