A sun snake was a type of snake. Around 160 BBY, the Jedi Knight Indara was captured during a mission on the planet Ruathi and forced to fight in an arena against a gheriol, a creature with a long sinuous body, six legs, and a black pelt. Upon seeing the creature, Indara thought that it looked like a cross between a tooka cat and a sun snake.
