A sentient cephalopod species existed that had one eye mounted on a single eyestalk and a mouth with appendages on both sides at the base of their eyestalk. The species had anterior flipper-like appendages and a long, flexible tail. At least one member had reddish-brown skin with black stripes and a hazel eye. They were similar to the dianoga, a species native to the planet Vodran. The species' culture controlled their environment through terraforming abilities.
Niado Duegad was a Force-attuned member of the species who hailed from the dianoga's homeworld. During the Galactic Civil War, Duegad worked as a mercenary, and his enhanced adrenal glands allowed for short bursts of incredible strength.
