Archaeologists discovered evidence that in approximately 1,000,000 BBY an intelligent, aquatic species inhabited Jerrilek, a planet located on the Koros Trunk Line of the Deep Core. All that remained of the species by the time of the Battle of Yavin were ruined cities in the depths of the planet's oceans. Due to the ruins, rumors spread about the possibility of the species.
