The B84-Viper was a cruiser used by criminal factions during the Imperial Era including the Ashiga Clan, the Pyke Syndicate, and pirates. One Pyke Syndicate B84-Viper and Pyke JLF-19 Junkros Fighters battled a pair of Mining Guild Freighters from the Hutt Clan and a group of ARC-200 Wing Cutter Fighters in Tatooine's orbit in 3 ABY. The scoundrel Kay Vess and ND-5 stumbled on the battle as they arrived from hyperspace.
The Viper was armed with six laser cannon turrets and missile launchers and had six sublight engines along with a hyperdrive system. The B84 was fitted with a hangar bay that had port and starboard openings and could hold at least four starfighters.
