A class of destroyer was utilized by the Unknown Regions Chiss Ascendancy nation's Expansionary Defense Fleet. Chiss destroyers were equipped with engines and a hyperdrive, and possessed electrostatic barriers for shields. Its weaponry included spectrum lasers, plasma spheres and breacher missiles and the hull was constructed of nyix-alloy. In 19 BBY, several of these ships participated in a battle over the Vak Combine nation planet of Primea against the Nikardun Destiny hegemony as part of Admiral Ar'alani's Picket Force Six.
By 18 BBY, the pilot of the Xodlak family frigate Midsummer had served aboard a Chiss destroyer as its third pilot before being recalled by the family to serve aboard the family warship.
