Cybershop ship

Cybershop ships were starships that acted as mobile cybernetics showrooms, installation, and maintenance facilities. Cybershop ships with legal cybernetics masters offered services from basic cybernetic prosthetics to advanced post-injury reconstruction and enhancement and were renowned in those areas. Some unscrupulous crafters offered illegal or illicit modifications, cutting-edge cybernetics with blatantly criminal utility, such as concealed weapons or lock-picking tools, that legal ships avoided installing—or at least advertising.

Originating from hospital or emergency response ships, maintenance support starships, or ships that specialized in neither, the conversion from hospital or emergency response ships was relatively easy, although sometimes lacked the defenses required by outlaw cyberneticists. Maintenance support ships were converted by adding medical bays and surgical suites, an operation favored by providers desiring a wide array of devices and technical resources for building cybernetics and cybernetic experimentation. Cybershop ships that originated from neither of the first two fields had a much more costly and labor intensive conversion but could be selected for the starship's performance attributes.

Cybershop ships operated by poorly run or indebted organizations provided cheap services, but such workshops were a dirty and unwelcoming house of horrors. One cybershop ship was a modified CR90 corvette produced by the Corellian Engineering Corporation and cost 1,300,000 credits. The ship was equipped with long-range sensors, a navicomputer, and its primary Class 2 hyperdrive and a Class 15 hyperdrive. The cybershop, staffed by 135 enlisted officers and crew, including medical staff, transported up to 100 passengers, eighty patients, and forty medical droids and had one year of consumables. The CR90 was armed with one dorsal turret-mounted twin medium turbolaser battery and one ventral turret-mounted twin medium turbolaser battery.
