The Delaya-class courier was a Galactic Republic courier starship developed circa 4000 BBY. It was designed and built by Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc. while the company was owned by Duros. The ship was popularized due to its use by Arca Jeth and his own Delaya-Class courier, known as SunGem. Their fame led to other Jedi acquiring the same class of ship, and eventually for Hoersch-Kessel Drive to create the Vanya-Class Courier based on its design and purpose for use by the Jedi Order.
