Grade III battle stations were active around the time of the Clone Wars, fought from 22 BBY to 19 BBY between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems. The battle station reached ten kilometers (6.2 miles) in width and was equipped with a deflector shield generator. Munificent-class star frigates maintained enough firepower from their heavy turbolasers to penetrate a Grade III battle station's deflector shields.
