OreDiggers were MG-100 StarFortress SF-17 heavy bombers modified for mining. They were used by Central Ridge, a mining company based on the planet Hays Minor. When the First Order took over the planet, the OreDiggers were equipped with a powerful laser, and used to mine directly through Hays Minor's crust to extract minerals, tearing the planet apart.
