The Surveyor-class reconnaissance frigate was a class of small, fast frigate used by the naval forces of the Galactic Empire. Manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards, the Surveyor was based on the Active-class fast attack frigate, another KDY starship. Surveyors were suited to reconnaissance and exploration with their sensor and stealth systems, allowing them to collect information undetected, although they also had weapons for naval combat. During the Imperial Era, Surveyor-class frigates were commonly deployed in battle groups in the Core Worlds and Mid Rim Territories.
