An actuating diffuser module was an blaster component that destabilized energy particles, causing blaster bolts to explode on impact. By 3 ABY, it was illegal to own a diffuser module in the Galactic Empire. However, Rodian scavenger Namda Eaakee came into possession of one of the modules.

In 3 ABY, the scoundrel Kay Vess traded with Eaakee for the module in exchange for ten direct-energy circuits. She later used it to the modify her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol's plasma module.
