The BX-23 Probe Droid was a model of floating cube-shaped droid available during the Third Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. One such droid was present on the moon Yavin 4 during or after 3626 BBY. BX-23 Probe Droids were plated in a green color with silver plating around most of the edges. The droid had a photoreceptor on the center of one of its side faces and three holoprojectors, one below its photoreceptor, one on its right side, and one on its top face. The droid model also had two vents on its left face and a periscope on its top face.
The P1-XL droid was identical in shape to the BX-23 Probe Droid, but with orange plating.
