Cortosis shield

A cortosis shield was a model of shield that was made of alloys or synthetic compounds and laced with a cortosis weave, which allowed it to block lightsabers and blaster bolts. With a cost of 900 credits, the shields were strong enough that they could be used as melee weapons, although it was not their primary function.
