DLS-12 heavy blaster carbine

The DLS-12 heavy blaster carbine was the blaster carbine version of DLT-19 heavy blaster rifle that was designed for the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic during the final months of the Clone Wars by BlasTech Industries.

While the redesign limited the carbine's maximum effective range, it maintained a prodigious energy output. Still bulky to have been considered a type of carbine, the DLS-12 offered some of the best stopping power in its class. And while the Republic purchased the carbine in mass quantity, the Clone Wars between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems was brought to an end before the blaster was used on the front lines, and since the forces of the Galactic Empire never adopted the carbine in significant numbers, the weapons were sold in a surplus of auctions for 1,350 credits, finding their way into the hands of bounty hunters, mercenaries, and other hired guns.
