Electronic lock breaker

Electronic lock breakers, also known as scramble keys, lottery keys, or luckbreakers, were small, powerful and limited-using slicing rigs that were designed to break through the most common types of computerized locks. As such with most equipment, they came in a variety of models, from low-tech versions used to override simple civilian house and vehicle locks to heavily modified, military-grade lock slicers that were capable of cutting through the locks on the bridge of an Imperial-class Star Destroyer used by the Galactic Empire.

It was claimed that electronic lock breakers often found the correct code faster then it could input them, and experienced operators could tell when this happened by faint buzzing or vibrations from the device. This allowed the operator to manually input a code they believed was correct before the device cycled it through the locking system. This method could be less effective, but save valuable time if the guess was correct.

Around 20 BBY, after meeting the Anzellan slicer Ginntho, the Twi'lek Jedi Knight Tualon Yaluna mentioned scramble keys when asking her how she changed careers from xenoanthropology to slicing.
