Explosive shackles were a type device used to secure slaves and prisoners. They had small but lethal explosive charges built into them to deter escape attempts. Typically composed of a collar and belt joined by durasteel chains, these devices were in possession of detonators that could be set to explode at the push of a button, if the wearer left a specific area or moved more than certain distance from the control unit.
