Han's heavy blaster pistol

Han's heavy blaster pistol was a modified BlasTech Industries DL-44 heavy blaster pistol. Han once claimed the blaster had been a gift from his mother. Solo modified the weapon, adding a scope with integrated motion sensor software and computer-enhanced low-light sighting. The weapon's galven circuitry was improved, allowing the blaster to fire more powerful blaster bolts without draining additional power. However, the weapon was mainly effective at short range, and only carried enough energy for twenty-five shots. The weapon was kept in a quickdraw holster at Solo's hip, giving the smuggler an edge when speed counted.
