A holotrace device was a wrist-worn gadget that could be used to trace a holographic transmission back to its source. One such device was owned by Lux Bonteri, which he used in order to track down Count Dooku. Using this device, Bonteri was planning to get revenge on Dooku for murdering his mother, Mina Bonteri, by providing the location of Dooku to Death Watch.
