Impulse detector units were a type of impulse detector. A single unit included a flat base with a grill above it on the device's front with a triangular central surface in the center of the grill. A series of protrusions extended from the top of the device, which was dark gray, including a signal clarifier and a receiver antenna. Tubing ran from each side of the device back round to the rear.
An impulse detector unit was sat on the counter of the junk dealer Watto's junkshop in the city of Mos Espa on the planet Tatooine when aa group led by the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn entered the store in search of a T-14 hyperdrive generator in 32 BBY.
