A laser beam was a specialized countermeasure equipped in Luthen Rael's modified Fondor Haulcraft. It could be used to slice through enemy ships in close range, destroying them in the process. He successfully used them against the TIE/ln starfighters deployed against him by Captain Elk's Segra Milo Imperial Patrol cruiser during the Skirmish above Segra Milo, destroying the fighters and escaping his pursuers.
