Magnetic flashback suppressor

Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.
The magnetic flashback suppressor was a parabolic shaped dish that was affixed to the end of weapons such as the KX9 laser cannon manufactured by Taim & Bak and the E-Web heavy repeating blaster from BlasTech Industries. For the KX9 laser cannon, the suppressors reflected excess laser energy produced by the laser tip away from the laser barrel and fuselage of a starfighter. The suppressors also safeguarded the cannon from the occasional unstable laser bolt. The laser cannons were part of the armaments of Incom Corporation's T-65 X-wing starfighter, and the curved shape of the suppressors were very recognizable.
