Padmé Amidala's wardrobe

Legends Canon version → Linked from 19 articles

Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

Padmé Amidala, Queen and later senator of Naboo, maintained a large wardrobe of extravagant, ornate and in some cases very elaborate disguises, dresses, and robes of office throughout her life.

As a Princess of Theed, her dresses were simpler, geared more towards practicality than style. However, her robes and dresses during her terms as Queen were ornate and uniquely styled, geared highly towards Naboo tradition rather than comfort. The Naboo Royal Starship was equipped several special wardrobe containers to hold the queen's wardrobe and jewellery which contained accessory holders, a climate-controlled interior and micrograv devices in their bases, which activated when the container was closed, that ensured that the clothes were properly hung even if the container was on its side.

After her second term as Queen ended and she entered into the galactic senate, she opted for simpler, more practical clothing. Amidala also wore very simple and non-decorative outfits when going on undercover missions. At her wedding to Anakin Skywalker, she wore a white gown with intricate patterns then later in her marriage she often wore dark, loose clothes to disguise her pregnancy.
