The "Phoenix II" was a plasma disruptor manufactured by Drever Corporation as a tool for custom agents and special forces commandos to breach locked doors.
Despite its original purpose, many soldiers wielded it against battle droids and other enemies that they encountered, after discovering its effectiveness as a weapon. This improvisation prompted the creation of the "DN bolt caster" that was widely used by clone pilots during the Clone Wars.
