Reactive heatsinks were compact versions of the heat sinks used in capital ship reactors. They could be installed on a starship to actively detect and dissipate dangerous heat build up in a ship's laser cannons.

In 3 ABY, Kay Vess was awarded a number of reactive heatsinks by the Miyuki Trade League after completing a smuggling contract for them.
