S-Thread Tracker was a type of long-range homing beacon. Imperial Intelligence often concealed S-Thread Trackers in cargo containers that were known to be heading to Alliance to Restore the Republic bases. However, due to the remote location of the bases, the trackers usually only narrowed the location of the base down to the nearest ten parsecs. Boba Fett had dummy proton torpedoes fitted with S-Thread Trackers aboard Slave I.
