The S15A deflector shield was a model of deflector shield. In 3 ABY, the Trailblazer, an EML-850 light freighter, was equipped with a S15A deflector shield when the thief Kay Vess stole it from the Imperial Security Bureau Director Sliro Barsha's Westhill Palace in the city of Canto Bight on the planet Cantonica. Vess piloted the stolen freighter to the moon Toshara and carried out modifications on it there.
Vess eventually upgraded the Trailblazer and replaced its S15A with a S30B deflector shield and then a S50C deflector shield, providing ever increasing shield capacity
