The Salamander thermal shielding system was a type of heat shielding armor enhancement produced by Kaminoan Armorsmiths during the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire following the Battle of Yavin. The system cost 1000 credits and kept its wearer protected from high temperatures using active and passing cooling systems, an insulated body glove and heat-proof coating. It could be installed into any suit of armor that covered the entire body and was sealable.
