Splinter grenade

Splinter grenades were a type of grenade used during the High Republic Era. They were packed with shards of metal shrapnel which would spray out when the grenade exploded, with the capability to kill dozens of people. During the Great Hyperspace Disaster, a group of pirates who attacked the Ranoraki compound utilized a splinter grenade shot out of a launcher, but Jedi Master Loden Greatstorm used the Force to deflect the grenade into the air, so it exploded harmlessly hundreds of meters in the air.
