A step-down transformer was a device used to control a current of electricity in regards to the specific power needs of different devices. The Lars family of the Outer Rim planet Tatooine owned a step-down transformer, which they used in conjunction with a bio-converter power generator to supply power for their homestead and their perimeter security sensors.
