Terrain scanner

A terrain scanner was a device, commonly featuring a multi-spectral dish located at the end of a hand-held wand. A Jedi team used a terrain scanner to monitor the planet Brendok's terrain for anomalies. Larger terrain scanners were also sometimes equipped onto the front of certain repulsorcraft models to assist droid pilots, such as in the Grand Arena on Vespaara.
