Adler Roty was a professional stage performer who claimed to be one of the Sorcerers of Tund, an ancient sect of sorcerers based on the Outer Rim planet Tund. In 22 BBY, Roty's new show at the CoCo District Theatre on the Core Worlds planet Coruscant was advertised on HoloNet News. The advertisement used a trademarked tag-line, "It's not the Force! It's magic!" The advert also featured a robed figure.
