Arleil Schous was an aging Defel fortune hunter who spent time in Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina on the planet Tatooine in 1 BBY. He was drinking in the cantina when the bounty hunter Bossk'wassak'Cradossk sought the astromech droid 261 at the establishment and again later in 1 BBY when the moisture farmer Luke Skywalker and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi entered the building.
On the latter occasion, he sat with the patrons Hem Dazon, Bom Vimdin, Pons Limbic, and Braconnor Bakiska in one of the backrooms before moving to share a jigger of Merenzane Gold with the patrons Ketwol and Kardue'sai'Malloc. Due to his age, Schous was losing the ability to bend light around his body and virtually disappear.
